HardTopics at school

Project Updates

In a two-hour lesson in Austria, the HardTopics app was tested with the religion and ethics groups of three classes at the bilingual HAK in Klagenfurt. The students were presented with 10 controversial statements. They were asked to rate the statements on a scale from I completely agree to I completely disagree. The students were then divided into pairs and had to hold their dialogues. This worked quite well for most of the young people if they were brave enough to be open and listen to other opinions. Most of them gave feedback that it was very interesting and that they could imagine talking to people with different opinions more often in the future without immediately turning away.
